A Family for Katty

“But now, this is what the Lord says, He who is your Creator, Jacob, and He who formed you, Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!” - Isaiah 43:1

There is something about the way little Katy* says “good morning” that really does seem to promise one a good morning. “Buenos dias!” she says in the sweetest tone while tilting her head, greeting everyone she encounters. When asked what her name is, she never gives just her first name. Instead, she always says her first AND last names, just so everyone knows exactly who she is!

This bright and charming little three-year-old has been at For His Children since she was an infant. It has been such a joy to watch her grow and see her personality develop! Friendly and not a bit timid, she loves to share what is on her mind. Like most toddlers, she is active and full of energy. She loves to dance, jump on the trampoline, and look at the trees and foliage as she goes on walks.

Thanks to your support, she is receiving early stimulation classes at FHC with her teacher, Nancy, every weekday. Through play and interactive activities, Nancy focuses on developing her social, cognitive, and fine and gross motor skills. Katy especially loves to look at books. She likes to choose a book from the shelf, then describe the pictures. Her favorite book is an old well-loved reader, but it never seems to get old for Katy!

Apart from “class,” Katy is receiving physical therapy to help strengthen her spine as she was born with a spinal malformation. She also wears a brace to help support her spine and improve her posture. Thankfully however, her mild condition doesn’t inhibit her from engaging in any kind of physical activity. In fact, she is as active as ever, and seems to always be on the move!

Would you be praying that this sweet girl be adopted into a forever family soon? She has been cleared for international adoption. Would you pray that she would feel the tangible embrace of her Heavenly Father through the loving arms of family that will support and hold her through every season of her life?

Having a family is so vital for every child’s emotional needs and development, giving them a sense of belonging and helping them affirm their identity. At three years old, Katy knows who she is, but may her identity be further established in a family, and ultimately be found in Christ.
