Rafael’s School Adventures

His sleepy eyes struggle to focus as his tia gently wakes him up. She helps him get dressed and makes sure his uniform is neat. After a nutritious and delicious breakfast, she packs his school bag and with encouraging words, sends him off to school.

Nine-year-old *Rafael’s favorite classes at school are Physical Education and Language Arts. He is always on the move, so it’s no surprise he loves gym class! In Language Arts, he enjoys contributing to the class activities and finishes his assignments quickly and accurately.

Thanks to your support this past school year, he has successfully learned new content in his Language Arts class. He has mastered the phonemes m, y, and p, added new vocabulary words, and has been able to correctly identify calendar dates. In math class, he has learned to count and recognize numbers 0-30.

Besides academics, Rafael’s school encourages students to work as a team and contribute to their community. To put these values into practice, the school organized a project called “Cleaning My Second Home.” Along with his classmates, Rafael helped clean up the playground and soccer field. We are so thankful that Rafael’s school encourages children to participate in such meaningful projects that foster values like responsibility and good stewardship.

Overall, Rafael is acquiring and retaining new academic skills. We are proud of how hard he has worked this past school year. Despite his cognitive delay, he is learning and advancing. We are so encouraged by his progress!

Your support has been crucial in enabling him to attend a special education school tailored to meet his unique needs, helping him thrive and grow to his full potential. Gracias!
