The Gift of a New Beginning
Sweet and creamy purees? Yes, please! Squash puree? Absolutely! Strange and unexpected textures, like grainy rice, or squishy carrots and peas? No way!
Little John*, who has just turned one, is not too keen on transitioning from familiar purees to the adventurous unknown of solid foods. He’s in no hurry to walk either. Why walk on just two legs when one can use all four limbs to get around?
It has been such a joy to watch this playful little boy, who arrived at the home at just four months old, flourish and grow over the past eight months. As a tiny baby, John sensed the warmth and safety of his new home as he was embraced by the loving arms of his new tías (caregivers). Your generosity and compassion have contributed to his positive transition, launching him into a happy and stable first year of life. Your support has meant John has been able to receive the personalized care, attention, and love so especially vital in an infant’s first few months.
When John was a baby, his muscles were weak, but thanks to your support, he received physical therapy. Now, his muscles are stronger, and while he still prefers to crawl, he's starting to try walking, holding onto furniture to steady himself.
As John begins a new year of life, we celebrate that he is happy, thriving, and enjoying life in all the ways a one-year-old can. Whether he’s amazed by the feel of cool, spiky grass, rolling around in a ball pit, or smiling to his favorite song, "La Lechuza" (the Barn Owl), we praise God for His faithfulness in caring for John and for the hope-filled future ahead. While John is now eligible for adoption, we take this moment to reflect with gratitude on the past eight months, filled with precious moments, memories, and milestones.
Thank you for making these past eight months possible and for giving this sweet boy a fresh start during his most critical and formative year. We are confident that the impact of your support will be felt for many years to come!
