Clark and Melinda Vaughn For His Children Legacy Endowment Fund
“All the people that took care of me that first year of my life will remain in my heart forever. They all contributed one way or another to the person I am now. I am lucky because I was welcomed into the FHC family, and this means I was loved from the day I was born; I will never be able to thank them enough for this.”
Nataly Mera grew up in Ecuador after being adopted from For His Children in 2000. She completed her Masters degree in management in Milan, Italy. She has made several return visits to FHC.
Have you considered what YOUR legacy could be?
Clark and Melinda Vaughn left their comfortable lives in California in 1990 to love and care for children in Ecuador who were abandoned, abused or neglected. There is no other way to describe that decision except to say they answered a spiritual call. This was the beginning of For His Children (FHC).
Your contribution to the Clark and Melinda Vaughn For His Children Legacy Endowment Fund can change lives. It will be your legacy. The endowment income will ensure For His Children can continue its transformational work, which has been recognized for its global impact.
Gifts to the endowment, a 501(c)(3) organization, may be eligible for favorable tax treatment. Ways to give include:
Will or trust bequests
Beneficiary designation gifts
Zero estate tax gifts
Donor-advised funds
Cash donations
Shares of stock
Your gift to the Endowment Fund will allow you to transform the lives of vulnerable and orphaned children in Ecuador for years to come and leave a lasting legacy.
Why is the Endowment Fund like a fruit tree?
The nature of an endowment is that the principal can never be spent. Yet the investment income it generates can be used for day-to-day or long-range expenses at the homes in Quito and Latacunga. Your gift to the Endowment Fund will help grow a strong and healthy tree that produces fruit to continue benefiting the vulnerable children For His Children serves.
“For His Children was the first place I was cared for after I was born. When I talk about my early childhood with my parents, they always make sure to tell me and make me understand that being at FHC and with Melinda and Clark provided me with love and care in a way that I wouldn’t have been able to get if I had stayed at another orphanage in Quito. I have always felt very lucky that this was the place I was taken to.”
Christina Melinda Poulsen grew up in Denmark after being adopted in 1992. She works as a Rehabilitation Specialist and made a return visit to FHC in 2019. She expressed admiration for the care the children are given.
